!Conversation Analysis in the Japanese Context: Organizations of Answers to Questions in Various Settings
This symposium will be organized by [Aug Nishizaka of Meijigakuin University|http://www.meijigakuin.ac.jp/~aug/] and will feature papers by Shuya Kushida and Makoto Hayashi, on "iya"-prefaced answers in ordinary conversation, Aug Nishizaka, on self-initiated problem presentations by pregnant women at the responding position, and Yuri Hosoda and David Aline, on children's answers to teachers' display questions in English classes at elementary schools. (Titles of individual papers will be announced in the near future.) Plenary speaker Jack Bilmes will be a discussant.
